With everything going digital, many are certain that printable paper will soon become extinct. It's not hard to understand why so many believe this considering the fact that e-readers are becoming more and more popular and everything is written on a computer. Although paper may no longer prove useful in certain areas, there are still several industries and uses for paper today.

While your school professor may want you to e-mail him a term paper, paper is still widely used in the business industries. The bulk of printable paper is used in businesses around the world. If you work in an office, then you know how important paper and copy machines are. Businesses spend thousands of dollars to purchase elite copy machines because they need quality printing jobs done on paper. Everything from memos to annual reports to forms and faxes are printed out on paper. Want a brochure to give to potential clients? You'll need special heavyweight paper to do it. Sure you can make a digital copy to send to people, but it just might not have the same affect as holding it in your hands and flipping through it -the same reason 'die-hard' readers can't be bothered with e-readers. It's also more convenient than lugging around a computer or television screen to a trade show.

Another popular use for paper is business cards. Business cards are an easy way to give people your contact information and tell others what it is you do. Imagine having to tell every client your name and phone number so they can put it in his phone. No one will want to clog his address book up with every person he encounters. Business cards are a simple, yet a highly efficient tool. Posters are another effective tool. Posters can get your message across at a trade show or simply decorate your office.

Mail hasn't become extinct just yet and therefore, you need envelopes. You may pay your bills online, but I don't think most people send electronic wedding invitations. Yes people do send out invitations through the web, but many still enjoy sending them the traditional way. There is just something aesthetically pleasing about receiving colored envelopes with artistic invitations inside. Again, businesses still use mail quite often and therefore rely on paper to print documents and to make the envelopes.

From the money you use to the checks you write to the diploma that is hanging on your wall, paper is a part of our everyday lives. Despite heavy use of computers and technology, there are some items are better left on paper. The paper industry may not be as large as it once was, but when we take a closer look, we can see that printable paper is one material that isn't going away any time soon.
