Bed bugs have become an epidemic among cities. They get into apartment buildings, hotel rooms, and even movie theaters. Yuck. These nasty little nuisances like to tag along wherever you go. That's why they spread so easily and so quickly. If you intend to kill bed bugs you need to isolate them to one location and take quick action. They like living under beds - hence their name- in fabric on sofas and chairs, clothing and in cracks in the floor. They're just as resilient and frustrating as any other pest.

Don't move anything out of the infected zone. Consider this a war zone where you will unleash your fury. Furniture should not be removed. It can be cleaned and restored. If the furniture is moved you can risk bed bugs spreading.

When choosing a method of extermination avoid bug bombs and other products not specified for bed bug extermination. Because everything should remain in place it means you're going to have to be coinhabitants with your unwelcome guests until the problem is solved. You don't want to be breathing in any toxic fumes or chemicals in the process either so try avoiding unnatural methods of extermination. Never, under any circumstances, use toxins to kill bed bugs where children are present or will be present.

You can try hiring a professional exterminator. It may take several treatments before the problem goes away so they might schedule a few follow ups. You're stuck with the problem until the exterminators return, even if you find it effective.

Another option is to use heat extermination. Heat kills bed bugs in a green friendly and natural way so you'll want to try renting or buying the proper equipment. This would include a heater, fan, and the proper electrical cords. This is good because it's safe to use in your home while you're still in residence and it doesn't release any toxins. There is no after effects nor is there residue and you can always use it again whenever you need to. You could also try bio-pesticides, such as fruit and vegetable pesticides.

Also be sure to clean all of your bed sheets, comforters, pillow cases, and other fabrics. You want to be rid of any waste they leave behind. When transporting them keep them in plastic bags. Have them laundered at high temperatures because the heat kills bed bugs just as effectively in the wash as it does in the room. Steam clean any carpets and rugs. Looking all the nooks and crannies.

Remember that you can re-use your green-friendly heater to destroy any remaining bed bugs and bed bug nymphs. You'll find that the heater option also works again other problems. It can kill stink bugs, bacteria, and mold as well.
